Rules
 
The following rules will govern the 49th Labor Day Talent Contest. In the event of any misunderstandings, the decision of contest directors and judge, are final.
 
1.  All entries must be received by August 29, 2008. Each performer must submit a $5.00 entry fee (check or money order made out to the Labor Day Association) with their application. Groups must submit a $5.00 fee per performer. One entry fee per performer is required regardless of the number of acts; all acts must compete in their age group. In duet or group acts, the act must enter in the appropriate division of the oldest performer. Performers may compete in a maximum of two (2) acts, not to exceed one individual performance. EXAMPLE: A performer may compete in one solo and one group act or two group acts.
2.  Auditions will be at 10:00 a.m. on August 30, 2008, and proceed in the following order: Junior Division, Intermediate Division, and Senior Division. There will be five finalists in each division who will advance to the finals on Sunday, August 31, 2008, at 3:00 p.m. There will be ten (10) awards given - First, Second, Third for each division, plus a Grand Prize for overall winner, regardless of age. The Grand Prizewinner will not be eligible for a division award.
TALLIES WILL NOT BE POSTED AT THE AUDITION OR FINALS.
3.  Age Groups: Junior 0- 8 year, Intermediate 9-13 years, Senior 14 - ?? years
4.  Acts are strictly limited to five (5) minutes on and off stage. Cassette tapes for background music should be furnished by participants. Contest Directors will provide microphones, speakers and sound system. ANY PERFORMER PRACTICING IN THE BUILDING WHILE OTHER ACTS ARE PERFORMING WILL BE DISQUALIFIED.
5.  The contest check-in station will be open at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday and 2:30 p.m. on Sunday. Performance line-ups will be posted.

DECISIONS OF THE JUDGES & CONTEST DIRECTORS ARE FINAL!
